Job summary

Ward Security is seeking an experienced Security Officer in London to safeguard a busy corporate site. You will be highly visible, approachable and proactive, ensuring safety for employees and visitors while upholding the client’s standards.

The role requires a valid Door Supervisor SIA licence, excellent communication and exceptional observation skills. Shift pattern includes mornings across multiple days, with comprehensive training and ongoing development provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of checkable employment, education and/or unemployment history in line with BS7858 vetting requirements.
• A valid Door Supervisor SIA licence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to engage professionally at all levels.
• Strong observation skills, with the ability to identify, respond to and record incidents accurately.
• Professional and presentable at all times, representing Ward Security positively.
• Reliable and punctual, with a strong attendance record.
• Strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for helping others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence with regular foot patrols.
• Control access to the premises and verify identifications.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond to alerts.
• Welcome and assist visitors, providing directions and escorts when needed.
• Identify and report concerns, health and safety issues, or security breaches.
• Carry out searches professionally and in line with procedures.
• Respond to security incidents and escalate as required.
• Complete locking/unlocking duties following client requirements.
• Act as a professional first point of contact for staff and visitors.
• Maintain logs of visitor movements, incidents, and patrols.

We are recruiting a highly motivated and professional Security Officer to support operations at a prestigious, fast-paced corporate environment found in Hammersmith.

Location: London, W6 8JA

Nearest tube: Hammersmith
Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour
Shift Pattern: Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun 0630-1830. Average 48 hours per week

Requirement: Valid Door Supervisor SIA Licence

About the Role:

As a Security Officer, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our client, their employees and visitors. You’ll be visible, approachable and proactive, helping to prevent incidents while responding confidently when they arise.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintain a visible security presence by carrying out regular foot patrols across designated areas, helping to deter crime and protect the client’s people, property and assets.
• Control access to the premises, checking identification and documentation to ensure only authorised individuals are granted entry.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems where provided, responding promptly and appropriately to any alerts or concerns.
• Welcome and assist visitors, providing directions and escorting visitors to their destinations when required.
• Identify and report concerns, including health and safety issues, suspicious activity, security breaches or criminal activity, ensuring accurate and timely reports are completed.
• Carry out searches professionally and respectfully, in line with company and client procedures.
• Respond confidently to security incidents, taking appropriate action and escalating incidents to the relevant authority when required.
• Complete locking and unlocking duties, including securing doors and designated areas in accordance with client requirements.
• Be a professional first point of contact for employees, visitors and contractors, providing information and assistance in a helpful and approachable manner.
• Maintain accurate records and logs, including visitor movements, incidents, patrols and other information required by the client.
• Remain alert and observant, recognising suspicious behaviour, individuals or activity and reporting concerns promptly.
• Support a safe working environment, including obtaining and maintaining any required First Aid qualification in line with company and health and safety requirements.
• Work as part of a professional security team, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of customer service, professionalism and integrity at all times.
