Job summary

SGC Security Services is seeking dedicated Security Officers to guard a water industry site in Hardham. The role is outdoor and involves long patrols, access control, and rapid incident response on a remote site with varied terrain.

Qualifications

SGC are seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Officers to join our team in Hardham , working on a permanent basis (48 Hours per Week).

This role plays a vital part in protecting a critical water industry site, ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and essential infrastructure. As stated in your document, the role is primarily outdoors in remote locations, overseeing the protection of water reservoirs and conducting regular patrols over varying terrain, including distances of over 10 km per shift.

Duties/Responsibilities

You will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment, deterring criminal activity, and preventing unauthorised access. Your duties will include:

• Monitoring and controlling access to ensure only authorised personnel enter the site.
• Conducting regular foot patrols across challenging terrain (10 km+ per shift).
• Responding promptly and effectively to incidents and emergencies.
• Operating and monitoring security systems and access control software.
• Maintaining high levels of situational awareness and assessing on-site risks.
• De-escalating confrontational situations with professionalism.
• Liaising with management, emergency services, and stakeholders during escalated incidents.
• Ensuring compliance with all security and safety protocols.
• Engaging with members of the public courteously and professionally.
