We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Security Officer to safeguard a prominent facility in Birmingham. Excellent communication skills are essential. Your responsibilities will include carrying out ID checks, responding to emergencies, and providing information to staff and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a clean and professional environment, and maintaining high security standards. You should have a solid background in security, proficiency in IT systems, the ability to multitask, and a professional appearance and demeanour.

Role: Security Officer
Pay Rate: £14.50 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off Days and Nights
Location: Birmingham

Role Requirements: Door Supervisor SIA licence

Main Duties:

• Act as a point of contact and information centre for staff and visitors
• Conduct yourself professionally at all times
• Follow all written and verbal instructions
• Guard access points, permit or refuse entry, restrain trespassers
• Perform foot patrols within designated areas to deter and protect property and assets
• Investigate incidents and take lawful action as per company policy
• Complete daily reports with observations, surveillance footage, and signatures
• Communicate effectively with all levels via verbal, written, phone, and radio
• Operate pass systems relevant to the assignment
• Perform lawful searches of vehicles and persons
• Operate firefighting equipment and understand health and safety instructions
• Operate basic switchboard equipment

Must Haves:

• Valid SIA licence
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Security Officer
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• High standard of personal presentation
• IT literacy and ability to operate detection and emergency systems
• Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude towards dealing with people and challenges
