Job summary

Sodexo, a global facilities and services provider, is seeking a Security Officer for a site in Swindon. You will act as the first point of contact, control access, patrol the site, monitor CCTV and respond to incidents while enforcing health and safety rules.

This full-time role requires an in-date SIA Licence and a vigilant, professional approach to security on site. The position offers a generous benefits package and opportunities for career development with Sodexo.

Qualifications

• SIA Licence (essential) and ability to work at a corporate/pharma site.
• Experience in corporate, pharmaceutical, or high-security environment desirable.
• Strong knowledge of security operations and compliance.
• Excellent observation and attention to detail.
• Proactive and professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for staff, visitors and contractors and maintain a secure front-of-house presence.
• Control access and egress, verify identification and comply with security protocols.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols and maintain visibility to deter risks.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms and security equipment and respond to incidents promptly.
• Respond to emergencies and alarm activations following escalation procedures.
• Enforce policies and health & safety regulations at all times.
• Carry out searches, inspections and audits in line with site requirements and standards.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and shift handovers.

Hours: Full time – 42 hours per week (4 on / 4 off)
Pay: £14.09 per hour

What you’ll do:

• Act as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and contractors, ensuring a professional and secure front-of-house presence
• Control access and egress to site, verifying identification and ensuring full compliance with security protocols and site procedures
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols, maintaining a visible presence to deter and detect security risks
• Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and security equipment, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or breaches
• Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and alarm activations, following escalation procedures where required
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations, ensuring full compliance at all times
• Carry out searches, inspections, and audits in line with site requirements and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports, logs, and shift handovers
• Support business continuity by working collaboratively with site teams and emergency services when required

What you’ll bring:

• A valid and in-date SIA Licence (essential)
• Proven experience in a corporate, pharmaceutical, or high-security environment (desirable)
• Strong understanding of security operations, procedures, and compliance standards
• Excellent observation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and professional when responding to incidents and emergency situations
• Confident communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
• A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented approach
• Flexibility to work shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
