Job summary

New College Swindon is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to help keep people safe and support day-to-day college operations.

The role is permanent, part-time and term-time only, offering 14.8 hours per week across 41 weeks per year, with pro rata pay (£9,043–£9,452) and a full-time equivalent up to £29,574.

You will monitor the site, respond to incidents, conduct checks, maintain records and work closely with students, staff and contractors to uphold safeguarding standards.

What you'll do

• Support the safety and security of the College's students, staff and visitors.
• Monitor the site and respond appropriately to security concerns or incidents.
• Carry out security checks and follow established procedures.
• Provide a visible and reassuring presence across the College.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in line with College procedures.
• Work positively with colleagues, students, visitors and external contractors.
• Maintain accurate records and report concerns where appropriate.
