Job summary

Mitie has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Security Officer at our Lidl Teignmouth store. You will help maintain a safe shopping environment, report incidents, and deter theft while working with security systems and a mobile handset.

Shifts are day shifts with up to 12 hours per day, 9am–10pm Mon–Sat and 9am–4pm Sundays; overtime is available for holiday/absence cover. Full training is provided to support growth in the security industry.

Qualifications

• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or education

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided handset
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

Position: 47 hours per week, overtime available for holiday/absence cover

Pay: £14.30 per hour

Shifts: Day shifts only (Up to 12 hour a day between the hours of 9am – 10pm Monday – Saturday, and 9am to 4pm on Sundays)
