Job summary

Mitie has an exciting opportunity for a Retail Security Officer at our Lidl Littlehampton Store. The role offers a structured 47-hour week spread across five shifts from Monday to Sunday, with a bi-weekly rota and a pay rate of £13.45 per hour.

Full training and a comprehensive induction will be provided to start a career in retail security. You will act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor, monitor CCTV and EAS gates, and work with covert security personnel to deter theft and ensure customer

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
• Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or education
• Previous experience in a retail security role

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
• Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all
