Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Security Officer for Cypress House in Gravesend, working a 4 on 4 off pattern with 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00 shifts. You will help protect people, property and assets while delivering a professional service to employees and visitors.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid SIA licence, have prior security experience, and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills. Right to work in the UK and BS7858 vetting must be satisfied.

Qualifications

• Experience in a security role.

• Experience in busy or public-facing environments (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors.
• Act as first point of contact, providing a professional, friendly service.
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems, responding to incidents.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and report hazards or defects.
• Control access points, barriers, and support traffic management.
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure procedures are followed.

About The Role:

Days of Working: This position will be based at Cypress House, Gravesend working 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Shift timings are 07:00 - 19:00 & 19:00 - 07:00

Becoming a Security Officer at OCS offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment across a busy client site. In this role, you will play a vital part in protecting people, property, and assets, while delivering a professional and approachable service to all employees and visitors.

You will be part of a team that takes pride in high standards, strong customer service, and proactive security management, ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently at all times.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain the safety and security of buildings, personnel, and visitors across the site
• Act as a first point of contact, providing a professional, friendly and helpful service
• Monitor fire, security and building management systems, responding appropriately to incidents
• Support a safe working environment by following Health & Safety policies and reporting hazards, damage, or defects
• Control access points, barriers, and support traffic management across the site
• Carry out regular patrols and ensure security procedures are consistently followed

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Valid SIA Licence
• Previous experience in a security role
• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Experience working in a busy or public-facing environment
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to duties
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
