As a valued member of our Security Team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our people, premises, and operations safe. This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same—perfect for someone who thrives on purpose, teamwork, and responsibility.
In this dynamic role, you’ll:
Maintain a strong, visible presence, monitoring security systems and responding promptly to any incidents
Operate the Security Office and Control Room systems, stepping in when the Security Office Administrator is unavailable
Support cyclist transport across the River Crossing, helping ensure safe passage when needed
Conduct patrols of the Dartford estate—on foot and by vehicle—and support other depots when required
Issue, manage, and retrieve ID/access cards and keys for staff and contractors
Help process permits and check credentials for contractors, maintaining robust records and full confidentiality
Manage out-of-hours visitors and process abnormal loads and dangerous goods at the Kent Marshalling Area (KMA)
Create incident reports, assist with audit trails, and ensure all security procedures are followed to the highest standard
Provide cover for colleagues during leave and assist with maintaining systems like the ANPR database
Champion safety and Zero Harm, supporting a secure, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone on site

We’re looking for a proactive, professional team player who takes pride in delivering safety, service, and security at the highest standards. The ideal candidate will bring:
Previous customer service and/or security experience (desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of a specific security discipline (desirable)
First Aid and Fire Warden certification, or willingness to obtain
A full UK driving licence and confidence to drive a 4×4 vehicle in all weather
Friendly, courteous attitude and strong customer focus
Calm under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines
Clear, confident communication at all levels
A team-oriented mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships
Highly flexible, reliable, and self-motivated
Organised and able to multi-task and prioritise independently
Effective problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Willingness to travel to other sites, attend meetings, and participate in training

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
