Job summary

B&M Retail in Colchester is recruiting a confident Retail Security Officer for the Christmas period. This full-time, permanent role offers daytime, evening and weekend shifts, contributing to loss prevention, risk management and high safety standards.

You’ll work closely with store management to safeguard people and products, while delivering a welcoming customer experience. Prior security experience isn’t essential; a customer-first mindset and reliability are key.

Join our team in Colchester and make a real difference this Christmas!

In this role, you’ll be trusted with responsibility and play a vital role in safeguarding the store. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you’ll help prevent loss, manage risk and maintain high standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a full-time, permanent role with flexibility to work across daytime, evening and weekend shifts - ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and being an integral part of the store team over the Christmas period.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Actively monitoring the store to identify, prevent and report incidents
• Operating and reviewing CCTV systems in line with company policies
• Supporting the enforcement of Health & Safety procedures
• Conducting investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
• Engaging with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly and effectively
