Job summary

Mitie is recruiting a Security Officer for the DWP Castleford Centurion House. The role covers Castleford Centurion House, Castleford, West Yorkshire, with an hourly rate of £13.45 and a Monday to Friday day shift (08:45–17:15). A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence is preferred. Driving licence is recommended.

You will patrol, monitor access, respond to incidents and provide excellent customer service to staff and the public while ensuring safety and compliance with Mitie and DWP policies.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

What you'll do

• Help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for DWP colleagues, visitors and property.
• Carry out regular patrols and routine security checks to identify and manage potential risks.
• Respond professionally and effectively to emergencies, incidents or suspicious activity.
• Provide a high standard of customer service, offering reassurance and support where required.
• Liaise with emergency services, local law enforcement and the Mitie Communication Centre when needed.
• Complete accurate notebook entries and incident reports following any incident or security concern.
• Follow Mitie and DWP policies, procedures and site instructions at all times.
