Job summary

Mitie is seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our new contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for staff, visitors and property, patrolling premises and responding to emergencies to protect people and assets.

You will liaise with local law enforcement where required, provide excellent customer service, and complete routine security checks with clear incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience required.
• SIA DS Licence held.
• Good judgement and initiative; escalate as needed.

Job Overview

• -Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.

• -Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations, and Security and Health & Safety
• -Identify and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
• -Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to prevent escalation.
• -Maintain professional conduct when managing difficult situations and challenging customers.
• -Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as possible following any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
• -Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
• -Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Requirements

• -Previous Security Experience
• -Valid SIA DS Licence
• -Ability to take appropriate action to minimise disruption, loss, or damage.
• -Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating matters when a situation requires additional support.
• -Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
