Job summary

Delta Force Group is seeking a Security Officer to protect people, property and assets at client sites around the Isle of Wight and neighbouring areas. The role is part-time with shifts including days, nights and weekends, with a calm, professional presence and focus on safety and monitoring.

Responsibilities include CCTV monitoring, patrols, controlling access, reporting incidents, and supporting site management.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Security Guarding licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Able to pass BS 7858 screening: 5-year history check + basic criminal record check.
• Good spoken and written English for radio use and incident reports.
• Reliable, punctual and smart in appearance.
• Previous security experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels and report anything suspicious.
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols, checking doors, windows, exits and perimeter fencing.
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles; check passes and signing-in log.
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies per site instructions.
• Write incident reports and maintain the daily occurrence book.
• Carry out lock/unlock procedures and key control.
• Report health and safety hazards and maintenance faults to the site manager.
• Provide a professional presence at reception or the front gate.

Job description

As a Security Officer you protect people, property and assets at a client site. Most of the shift is spent watching CCTV and alarm panels, patrolling inside and outside the building, and managing who comes in and out. You are often the first person staff and visitors meet, so a calm, professional manner matters as much as vigilance.

You will work at client sites in and around Isle of Wight, with work also available in Southampton, Portsmouth and Newport. Typical sites include offices, retail, warehouses and logistics, construction and healthcare sites. We do not name client premises in public adverts; you will be told the site before you accept a shift.

This is a part-time role with regular shifts. Pay is £12.71–£14.71 per hour, depending on the site and shift.

Duties

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels and report anything suspicious
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols, checking doors, windows, fire exits and perimeter fencing
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles, checking passes and keeping the signing-in log
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies, following the site assignment instructions
• Write clear incident reports and keep the daily occurrence book up to date
• Carry out lock-up and unlock procedures and key control
• Report health and safety hazards, fire risks and maintenance faults to the site manager
• Provide a helpful, professional presence at reception or the front gate

Requirements

Pay and benefits

• £12.71–£14.71 per hour, depending on site and shift
• Full-time and part-time shift patterns, including days, nights and weekends
• Paid holiday (5.6 weeks a year, pro rata for part-time)
