Job summary

Delta Force Group is seeking a Security Officer to safeguard people, property and assets at client sites around Tilbury. The role involves CCTV monitoring, patrolling both inside and outside, and managing entry and exit for staff and visitors.

You will work full-time (40-48 hours per week) on a set rota, with day, night and weekend shifts. SIA licence, right to work in the UK, and BS7858 checks are required; English communication must be clear for radios and reports.

Qualifications

• SIA licence required for security guarding roles.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom is essential.
• Willingness to undergo BS7858 background screening.
• Good spoken English for radio communications and reports.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality for shift work.
• Security experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels; report suspicious activity.
• Patrol interior and exterior areas; check doors, exits and fencing.
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles; maintain sign-in log.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; follow site instructions.
• Write clear incident reports and keep records up to date.
• Carry out lock-up procedures and key control.
• Report health and safety hazards and maintenance issues.
• Provide a professional presence at reception or gate.

Job description

As a Security Officer you protect people, property and assets at a client site. Most of the shift is spent watching CCTV and alarm panels, patrolling inside and outside the building, and managing who comes in and out. You are often the first person staff and visitors meet, so a calm, professional manner matters as much as vigilance.

You will work at client sites in and around Tilbury, Essex. Typical sites include offices, retail, warehouses and logistics, construction and healthcare sites. We do not name client premises in public adverts; you will be told the site before you accept a shift.

This is a full-time role, usually 40 to 48 hours a week on a set rota. Day, night and weekend patterns are available. Pay is £12.71–£14.71 per hour, depending on the site and shift.

Duties

• Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm panels and report anything suspicious
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols, checking doors, windows, fire exits and perimeter fencing
• Control access for staff, visitors, contractors and vehicles, checking passes and keeping the signing-in log
• Respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies, following the site assignment instructions
• Write clear incident reports and keep the daily occurrence book up to date
• Carry out lock-up and unlock procedures and key control
• Report health and safety hazards, fire risks and maintenance faults to the site manager
• Provide a helpful, professional presence at reception or the front gate

Requirements

• Valid SIA Security Guarding licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Able to pass BS 7858 security screening: a 5-year employment and address history check and a basic criminal record check
• Good spoken and written English for radio use and incident reports
• Reliable, punctual and smart in appearance
• Previous security experience is helpful but not essential
