Job summary

Staffline in Basildon is recruiting Security Officers to provide a visible security presence and protect colleagues, customers, stock and assets in a dynamic retail environment.

Applicants must hold a valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervision licence and have experience preventing theft and loss. Excellent communication and a professional appearance are essential, with strong incident reporting skills and comfort with digital reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Security Guarding (SG) or Door Supervision (DS) licence.
• Experience identifying and preventing theft, fraud, and stock loss.
• Excellent communication and conflict management skills.
• Professional, smart, and highly presentable appearance.
• Strong written skills with incident reports and documentation.
• Confidence using digital reporting systems and mobile technology.
• Ability to remain calm, observant, and decisive in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a highly visible security presence to protect colleagues, customers, stock, and company assets.
• Proactively identify and prevent theft, fraud, and stock loss.
• Support the delivery of store loss prevention strategies and contribute to shrinkage reduction.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to suspicious activity and security incidents.
• Conduct investigations and gather relevant information relating to theft and loss prevention incidents.
• Produce accurate and detailed incident reports using digital reporting systems.
• Build positive working relationships with store management and retail teams.
• Ensure all site security procedures and client requirements are followed at all times.
• Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and fire evacuation procedures.
• Conduct staff and contractor searches where required and authorised.
• Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and customer service at all times.

Security Officers in Basildon, where no two days will be the same and you will have the opportunity to carve out a career with the biggest name in security.

Hours

4 Nights on 4 Nights Off (18:00-06:00)

Your Responsibilities
