Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Security Manager for Project Lyra in Reading. You will lead Physical, Personnel and Information Security delivery, shaping robust governance, assurance and compliance across the project and its supply chain.

You will develop security plans, manage vetting and access controls, and drive security training and incident response, ensuring adherence to strict national security requirements and client expectations.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications).
• Experience of national security vetting requirements and/or working with Sellafield Ltd, MOD, Government or similar regulated security frameworks.
• Experience managing security clearance processes and vetting aftercare.
• Previous investigation experience.
• Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of national security requirements and security governance.
• Experience handling sensitive and classified information.
• Demonstrable management and leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of all aspects of Physical, Personnel and Information Security across Project Lyra.
• Develop, implement and maintain project Security Plans, policies, procedures and standards.
• Ensure compliance with AWE, ONR and organisational security requirements.
• Manage the site access process for all employees, contractors and supply chain partners.
• Maintain and administer Security Aspects Letters (SALs).
• Oversee all aspects of personnel security, including security vetting and clearance management.
• Deliver security awareness training and project‑specific briefings.
• Lead the reporting, investigation and resolution of security incidents and breaches.
• Build and maintain relationships with Vetting and Pass Offices and key stakeholders.
• Provide leadership to Security Team, Assurance Team and Facilities Administration Team.
• Oversee assurance and audit activities, risk management and mitigation.
• Take responsibility for project facilities standards and operational effectiveness.
• Promote a strong security culture across the project and wider supply chain.
