Purpose of Role:
- Within their designated region, field-based security investigators are responsible for investigating assigned security incidents in response to reactive complaints from players and retailers; incidents derived from proactive data-mining of retail and CIP (UPAM) data; and reports of criminal/adverse activity by retailers, including non-compliance with Allwyn's mystery test shopper programme.
- All investigations are to be logged and completed using the case management system and escalated as necessary according to the Allwyn suspension and sanction process.
- Investigators are also responsible for providing detailed evidence and expert support to law enforcement/government agencies; preventing fraud; and conducting internal investigations within Allwyn.

- The Security function consolidates specialist knowledge, skills, and experience to keep Allwyn operating securely.
- Through our key security services, we work with the business to protect our people and assets, and maintain the integrity of the National Lottery.
Team Description:
- The Protective Security Team safeguards the security and integrity of The National Lottery through activities to prevent, detect, and deter potential threats.
Key Accountabilities or Duties:
- Investigate, resolve, and report on incidents within established timescales, including interviewing retailers and players or liaising with law enforcement.
- Visit retail outlets, liaise with proprietors, and take actions to uphold integrity and security, such as suspending or terminating retailer agreements or uplifting stock.
- Record complaint details and evidence from players to support allegations.
- Investigate high-tier prize claims, damaged tickets, and anomalous activity, securing evidence to support management decisions.
- Inspect retail premises for compliance, fraud prevention, and security issues, providing advice as needed.
- Prepare detailed investigation reports to support sanctions or corrective actions.
- Gather and analyze data to produce evidence statements for police and law enforcement.
- Provide evidence at court or formal proceedings as required.
- Contribute to process improvements related to investigations and incident management.
- Offer guidance to Retail Sales Managers regarding investigations and security issues.
- Provide cover for other investigators as needed.
- Assist in drafting and maintaining investigation policies and procedures.
- Support internal investigations involving staff, as requested.
- Provide 24-hour on-call security/investigation support on a weekly basis.
- Support media events for high-value winners to ensure safety and privacy.
Skills & Experience:
- At least five years' experience in a regulatory, legal, or enforcement environment.
- At least two investigations conducted.
- Strong presentation and defense skills for investigation findings; excellent organizational, analytical, and independent working abilities.
- Ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
- Proficiency in writing detailed investigative and business communications.
- Experience with Allwyn databases and systems.
- Analytical skills to interpret information and detect fraud.
- Knowledge of lottery security procedures, retailer responsibilities, and agreements.
- Understanding of game rules, terminal messages, and activity reports.
- Familiarity with relevant policies and under-age/play strategies.
- Knowledge of police procedures for evidence gathering.
- Understanding of winner validation processes.
- Awareness of personal and physical security measures.
- Must be able to drive.
