Job summary

EDF Energy is looking for a Security Installation Engineer at Hinkley Point C. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation and commissioning tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining accurate site records.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years in the electronic security sector, a relevant IT or Electrical qualification, and strong detail-oriented skills. This role requires working in compliance with all site procedures and being part of a 24/7 call rota.

Security Installation Engineer

Main Duties:

• Carry out additional installation and commissioning works as directed by team coordinators and/or Senior Site Engineer.
• Assist the Design Team in conducting surveys around the site for additional works.
• Accurate collection and recording of site hardware and software configuration information in conjunction with the CAD Engineer.
• Maintain site stock (spare) levels.
• Maintain accurate and timely records.
• Assist the site-based Health and Safety Lead and Project Director in ensuring audits are carried out for quality procedures.
• In conjunction with the Installations Manager and Health & Safety Manager, assist in the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other documentation as required to gain Permits to Work promptly.
• Proactively interact with other site-based teams, build a good rapport, and ensure the smooth flow of information to enable efficient operation of the site.
• Work in absolute compliance with all site procedures and embrace the customer's "Zero Harm to People and the Environment" mantra.
• Carry out any additional tasks that may be required.

Requirements:

• An IT or Electrical/Electronic qualification such as an HND or a Degree.
• Candidates with suitable relevant experience will be considered.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience installing and/or servicing a broad product base within the electronic security industry - typically Access Control, CCTV and Intruder alarm systems.
• Broad IT knowledge, e.g., software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP-based systems and networking principles.
• Knowledge of basic electrical principles such as measuring voltage, resistance and current. A basic understanding of electrical components, such as relays and resistors.
• Attention to detail is crucial to ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly and procedures are followed within the allotted timeframes.
• An enthusiastic team player who can work well under pressure and maintain a professional approach at all times.
• Comfortable working irregular hours and being on a 24/7 call rota.
• 5-year checkable employment history & Right to work in the UK/EU unrestricted.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
