Job summary

The Resourcing Team is seeking skilled Fence Installers to join our nationwide team, performing high-security fencing installations on utilities sites across the UK. The role requires frequent away stays for project coverage and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Candidates should have proven fencing installation experience, CSCS card, and the ability to coordinate with Lead Fence Installer on deviations, timesheets, and permits.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card required and proven fence installation experience.
• Ability to install steelwork and fence structures to specification.
• Capable of identifying deviations and communicating needs.
• Good interpersonal skills and observant of Health, Safety and Quality.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Installation of steelwork and fence structures.
• Inform Lead Fence Installer of deviations or extra purchasing needs.
• Report defects, snags and complaints to Lead Fence Installer.
• Report health, safety defects/incidents and near misses to Lead Fence Installer.
• Liaise with client representatives as required.
• Verify timesheets and personal expenses.
• Ensure compliance with Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Ensure permits are in place before activities.
• Promote material sustainability practices to reduce waste and costs.
• Report defective materials and substandard workmanship to Lead Installer.
• Carry out minor civils works (sills, small foundations, draw pits, ducting).

• Up to £19/hour + £40/overnight stay + overtime

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Fence Installers to join our team. This role involves installing high security fencing on utilities sites across the UK. Due to our fencing teams working on projects for large national contracts, we require our team to stay away most weeks.

Role & Responsibilities

• Installation of Steelwork and Fence structures
• Informing Lead Fence Installer of deviations from arrangements or additional purchasing requirements.
• Reporting defects, snags and complaints to Lead Fence Installer
• Reporting health & safety defects / incidents / accidents and near miss situations to the Lead Fence Installer
• Liaising with Client's representatives (as required)
• Verification of times claimed on timesheets and any other personal expenses.
• Ensuring that all Risk Assessments and Method Statements are adhered to.
• Ensure all appropriate permits are in place prior to any activity taking place.
• For promoting good practice of material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs.
• For reporting to the Lead Installer all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s.
• Minor Civils works (Sills, Small Foundations, Drawpits, Ducting)

Essential Competencies

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card
• Proven record of fencing systems installation.
• Proven ability to carry out installations.Able to make decisions and take responsibility.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must have good observational skills especially for Health, Safety and Quality issues.
• Ability to learn, understand promote and apply new technologies.

• Previous experience on substation / gas sites preferable.
