Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Controls Engineer in the UK to lead workstreams, define scope, and support robust measurement baselines and change control. You will collaborate with the team, suppliers, and finance to manage cost, schedule, and risk across defence projects.

Candidates should have a background in project controls across lifecycle stages, strong communication skills, and a proactive, adaptable mindset for complex, regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Have experience delivering projects.
• Have Project Controls experience across one or more stages in the lifecycle.
• Experience in Planning/Scheduling, Cost Estimation, Cost Control, Risk Management or Performance Reporting with associated software/tools.
• Basic understanding of how Integrated Project Controls disciplines operate.
• Proactive, curious, can-do attitude in uncertain environments.
• Good communication and ability to influence outcomes.
• Desire to build a community and support network beyond delivery.
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable qualifications/experience.
• Hold or be working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. APM, PMI).
• Competent in using the software needed for the role.
• Desire to work across sectors and with various clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead on specific workstreams within a cross-discipline Project Controls team.
• Contribute to scope definition using exclusions, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies; support WBS establishment.
• Support robust Performance Measurement Baseline and change control process.
• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse project performance data.
• Assist scope, cost, risk and schedule integration and alignment.
• Assist Earned Value Management analysis to inform delivery decisions.
• Liaise with Finance to generate prospective financial positions (e.g., ETC/ EAC).
• Support effective risk management through identification, quantification, and oversight of project risk.
• Support deployment of resources in line with resource-loaded schedules.
• Ensure output quality, accuracy, and integrity.
• Communicate delivery performance to stakeholders and drive process improvements.
