Job summary

G-Research is seeking a Software Engineer for the Security Automation Engineering Team in London. The role focuses on building automated detection and response capabilities across HPC, Azure and AWS while delivering secure, scalable automation systems.

You will work with CSIRT and security teams to integrate tooling (Azure Defender XDR, AWS Security Hub, Elastic Security) and contribute to architectural discussions. A strong growth mindset is essential.

Qualifications

Strong Python development skills with secure software engineering mindset.
Hands-on production systems in AWS or Azure.
Experience with DevOps tools and IaC.
Familiarity with SIEM/XDR/SOAR platforms.
Experience in agile delivery teams and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain automated detection and response systems across hybrid environments (HPC, Azure, AWS).
Develop high-quality, secure code in Python with best practices.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD).
Collaborate with CSIRT and security teams to integrate data and automation.
Contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions.
Monitor performance and reliability; drive operational improvements.
Engage stakeholders to translate automation needs into scalable solutions.
