Job summary

Anaplan is building a formal security architecture practice. This role leads it, turning security architecture into reusable assets like reference architectures, identity and authorization patterns, cryptography standards, and AI guardrails across the engineering surface.

You will own the standards engineering uses, influence major platform and AI changes, and lead a senior team to make secure-by-design the default.

Qualifications

• Track record building or leading security architecture in SaaS/cloud-first environments.
• Deep architecture credibility across identity/authorization, cryptography, secure-by-design, threat modelling.
• Hands-on depth to challenge weak designs; not purely managerial.
• People-leadership: hiring, coaching, calibrating a senior team.
• Experience aligning architecture to enterprise and regulated environments.
• Awareness of AI's impact on architecture: identity, authorization, supply-chain integrity, guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Lead the security architecture practice: define how architecture reviews work at Anaplan, what gets reviewed, when, by whom, and against which bar.
• Own the reusable patterns: drive security reference architectures, identity/authorization patterns, cryptography architecture, and AI guardrail design.
• Set security engineering principles: establish and maintain the standards that shape the platform.
• Review the highest-risk designs: lead architecture and design reviews for major platform and AI changes.
• Partner with platform engineering: engage on Hyperblock, Polaris, and the AI product line.
• Support compliance by design: ensure security architecture meets enterprise and regulated environments.
• Codify decisions into policy-as-code: create enforceable, version-controlled guardrails.
• Build and develop the team: hire, coach, calibrate, and mentor the architecture team.
