Job summary

Kier Group plc currently seeks a Senior Project Engineer to support Thames Water’s capital framework, delivering design and build services with a focus on safety and performance. You will work with supply chain partners and internal teams to ensure milestones and KPIs are achieved.

Hours: 45 per week with some flexibility. Applicants should have water-sector experience and a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification, plus related certifications and a valid licence.

• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing and updating construction programmes to meet milestones.
• Engaging with supply chain on Health, Safety and Wellbeing, leading by example.
• Overseeing design integration and design assurance against Thames Water standards.
• Chairing supply chain meetings and escalating issues where needed.
• Promoting a right first-time culture and capturing lessons learnt.

Job description

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering design and build services for Thames Water's infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets. You'll support project delivery, working collaboratively with supply chain partners and internal teams to ensure projects meet key performance indicators and are delivered successfully. This is an opportunity to contribute to important water sector projects while being part of a supportive team that values wellbeing and diversity.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll be working within the Thames Water team, supporting them in delivering successful capital framework projects. Your day to day will include:

• Managing and updating construction programmes to ensure key milestones are met


• Engaging with supply chain partners on Health, Safety and Wellbeing, leading by example


• Overseeing design integration and carrying out design assurance activities against Thames Water Asset standards


• Chairing supply chain meetings to monitor progress and escalating issues where needed


• Promoting a right first-time culture and capturing lessons learnt through case studies

You have experience within the water industry and hold a BEng, ONC, HNC or BTEC qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

• You hold a CSCS card, SSSTS and Confined Spaces certification


• You have experience in reviewing RAMS and understanding risks associated with process plant


• You demonstrate commercial awareness and strong collaborative skills


• You hold a Full driving licence
