Section Engineer – Civil Construction on a Live MOD Site

Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our KierBAM Joint Venture team in Plymouth at Devonport Royal Dockyard. You will be working in a live MOD facility on a major redevelopment project, coordinating with the WRB team to ensure progress against schedule, quality and safety standards.

The role focuses on setting out, quality control, drawing management and on-site problem solving, with collaboration across disciplines to deliver the project within scope.

Qualifications

• Needs strong communication and collaborative working skills.
• Experience in reinforcement detailing, formwork and falsework.
• SMSTS and CSCS White PQP/AQP or Black Managers card required or in progress.
• Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE, or equivalent pursued.
• Live MOD site experience and ability to work in a secured environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation of as-built drawings and maintain the Project Quality Plan.
• Provide setting out and dimensional control for accurate construction.
• Oversee recording and testing of workmanship and materials (drainage, concrete, brickwork).
• Provide engineering support to overcome technical problems and queries.
• Manage systems to review work progress against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
