Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Section Engineer for the Sizewell C Project team based in Suffolk. You will plan, supervise, and lead on site activities for a defined section, ensuring quality and safety across construction operations.

You will interpret drawings and specifications, coordinate engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and assist with planning, progress tracking, and risk assessments. This role supports delivering high-quality infrastructure safely.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Working towards professional membership such as ICE or CIOB (preferred).
• CSCS card holder advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting and implementing drawings, specifications, and design requirements on site.
• Supervising site operations and coordinating engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with short-term planning, programme updates, and progress tracking to keep the project on schedule.
• Producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements, and delivering safety briefings to promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintaining as-built records and quality documentation to meet stringent quality standards.

We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our Sizewell C Project team based in Suffolk.

Location: Kier Main Compound, Off A12, Kelsale, Suffolk

Hours: Typically 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Section Engineer, you will plan, provide engineering control, and supervise site operations for a defined section of works within a highly regulated nuclear infrastructure environment. You'll act as the technical lead on site, supporting the Sub-Agent to ensure works are executed correctly, efficiently, and safely. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a major infrastructure project whilst making a real impact.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Section Engineer, You'll Be Working Within The Sizewell C Project Team, Supporting Them In Delivering Safe, High-quality Construction Activities. Your Day To Day Will Include

• Assisting with short-term planning, programme updates, and progress tracking to keep the project on schedule,

• Maintaining as-built records and quality documentation to meet stringent quality standards.

What are we looking for?

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if:

• You hold a Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline,
• You have relevant experience in civil engineering, including site engineering and setting out in infrastructure, highways, heavy civils, or structures,
• You possess strong knowledge of construction methods, temporary works, and quality systems,
• You have strong IT skills with confidence using MS Office and AutoCAD,
• You are working towards professional membership such as ICE or CIOB, and hold a CSCS card.
