Job summary

Blue Inn Recruitment is seeking a Section Engineer for a Tier 1 civils/infrastructure contractor on the £240m Luton DART project. You will be responsible for QA, risk assessments, ITPs, method statements, and day-to-day site delivery on a high-value scheme.

The role may require limited setting out, subcontractor management, early design reviews, and occasional night shifts with uplift. Right to work in the UK is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Section Engineer or Senior Engineer on civils/infrastructure projects.
• Experience in piling and RC works.
• Worked on high value projects ideally with main contractor.
• CSCS card holder.
• Degree or equivalent: BSc/BEng or HNC/HND or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Produce risk assessments, ITPs, reconciliations, and method statements.
• If necessary, carry out limited setting out.
• Manage sub-contractors and conduct design reviews.
• Carry out quality assurance and produce inspection and test plans.
• Ensure safe working practices on site.
• Support Sub-Agent/Agent on day-to-day activities.
• Occasionally work night shifts with appropriate uplift.

Job description

We are recruiting a section engineer on the behalf of a Tire 1 contractors to work on the £240m Luton Airport Metro project.

The Luton DART (Direct Air-Rail Transit) will connect Parkway Station to the terminal with a journey time from Luton Airport Parkway to the airport terminal in under four minutes. It will also link the airport to central London within 30 minutes. Work should be complete by 2021

Role:

Within this role you would be responsible for, but not limited to, any of the following;

• Producing risk assessments, ITP’s, reconciliations, and method statements
• Required limited setting out (if necessary)
• Sub-contractor management
• Early design reviews
• Carrying out of quality assurance
• Producing activity control, inspection and test plans
• Ensuring a safe working practice
• Support Sub-Agent/ Agent on day today activities.
• Must be able to do night shift (occasionally)- You will have appropriate up lift rate for night shift.

Skills:

• Previously worked as a Section Engineer or Senior Engineer on a major civils and/or infrastructure project preferable.
• You have experience in piling and RC works
• You have worked on high value projects ideally with main contractor
• Hold a valid CSCS card
• BSc or BEng level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC/HND or the equivalent.
