Job summary

Red Sky Personnel are recruiting for a Section Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor on a pipeline of civil engineering projects at Heathrow Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong civils background to develop their career with a leading global contractor, on one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure sites.

Reporting to the Sub Agent, you will take responsibility for the engineering and delivery of your section of works, ensuring it is built safely,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on civil projects.
• Strong civil background: drainage, earthworks, RC structures and highways.
• CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS, and First Aid at Work.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain Heathrow airside clearance.
• Experience with setting out and survey equipment (Total Station / GPS).

Responsibilities

• Deliver your section of civil engineering works including drainage, earthworks, pavements, foundations and RC structures.
• Set out and survey works, checking line, level and dimensional accuracy.
• Manage and supervise subcontractors and site teams on a day-to-day basis.
• Prepare RAMS, permits to work and task briefings.
• Coordinate Temporary Works on your section in line with TW procedure.
• Complete quality documentation, including ITPs, checksheets and site records.
• Plan works with short-term look-aheads, and order materials and plant.
• Liaise with Heathrow operational teams to work safely within airport constraints.
• Support and mentor Site and Graduate Engineers.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver your section of civil engineering works, including drainage, earthworks, pavements, foundations and reinforced concrete structures
• Set out and survey works, checking line, level and dimensional accuracy
• Manage and supervise subcontractors and site teams on a day-to-day basis
• Prepare and brief RAMS, permits to work and task briefings
• Coordinate Temporary Works on your section in line with the TW procedure
• Complete quality documentation, including ITPs, checksheets, as-builts and site records
• Plan works with short-term look-aheads, and order materials and plant
• Liaise with Heathrow operational teams to work safely within airport constraints
• Support and mentor Site and Graduate Engineers

About You

• Experience as a Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on civil engineering projects
• Strong civil engineering background is essential: drainage, earthworks, RC structures, highways or pavements
• Tier 1 or major contractor experience preferred
• Aviation or airport project experience is desirable but not essential. Experience in rail, highways, utilities or other live environments is also well regarded
• Competent with setting out and survey equipment (total station / GPS)
• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering
• SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS card and First Aid at Work
• Able to obtain Heathrow airside security clearance (5-year checkable history)
• Full UK driving licence
