Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to lead a section on the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet project in Huntingdon. You will own planning through delivery, coordinating site activities, subcontractors and teams to meet programme, quality and safety standards.

With a civils background, you will develop junior engineers and graduates, review designs, manage documentation and support commercial efficiencies across your section. SMSTS and CSCS are required, IEng/CEng desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Site-based civil engineering experience, preferably highways/infrastructure.
• Understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
• SMSTS is required; CSCS card is required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your section of works from planning through to delivery.

• Manage engineers and support development of junior team members.
• Review designs, raise technical queries and manage site documentation.
• Monitor progress, identify delays and implement mitigation.

Project: A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet

We're looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join the major A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet highways project in Huntingdon.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a section of works, working closely with the Sub Agent / Agent and wider delivery team to ensure works are planned, coordinated and delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. You'll also support and develop Site Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices within your team.

The Role:

• Take ownership of your section of works from planning through to delivery.
• Coordinate site activities, programmes, subcontractors and site teams.
• Manage engineers and support the development of junior team members.
• Review designs, raise technical queries and manage site documentation.
• Monitor progress, identify delays and implement mitigation.

About You:

• Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous site-based civil engineering experience, ideally highways/infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles and contracts.
• SMSTS and relevant CSCS card.
• Good communication, planning and leadership skills.
• IEng/CEng or working towards professional accreditation is desirable.

• Highways and major infrastructure projects.
• Excavation works, HSG47 and Permit to Dig.
• Temporary works.
• Concrete and structural steelwork.
• CPCS A61 Appointed Person.
