Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services is seeking a Section Engineer for a major highways project at the A11/A47 Thickthorn Junction in Norfolk. You will own your section from planning through delivery, coordinating site activities, programmes and subcontractors while mentoring engineers and apprentices.

You will apply construction knowledge, drive safety and quality checks, review designs, and support commercial efficiencies across your section.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Previous site-based civil engineering experience, preferably highways.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
• SMSTS and CSCS cards held.
• Good communication, planning and leadership skills.
• IEng/CEng or working towards professional accreditation desirable.

Responsibilities

Project: A11/A47 Thickthorn Junction

We’re looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major highways project at the A11/A47 Thickthorn Junction.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a section of works, working closely with the Sub Agent / Agent and wider delivery team to ensure works are planned, coordinated and delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. You’ll also have responsibility for supporting and developing Site Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices within your team.

The Role:

• Take ownership of your section of works from planning through to delivery.
• Coordinate site activities, programmes, subcontractors and site teams.
• Manage engineers and support the development of junior team members.
• Review designs, raise technical queries and manage site documentation.

About You:

• Highways and infrastructure projects.
• Excavation works, HSG47 and Permit to Dig.
• Temporary works.
• Concrete and structural steelwork.
• CPCS A61 Appointed Person.
