Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Section Engineer for a live MOD redevelopment project at Plymouth's Devonport Royal Dockyard. You will join KierBAM Joint Venture and work on setting out, QA, and technical problem solving in a demanding live site environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering qualification with SMSTS and CSCS and are pursuing or have chartership; experience in reinforcement detailing, formwork and falsework is valuable. Strong collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng)
• SMSTS and CSCS White PQP/AQP or Black Managers card
• Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or similar
• Experience with reinforcement detailing, formwork and falsework
• Strong communication and collaborative working skills

Responsibilities

• Managing the preparation of as-built drawings and maintaining the Project Quality Plan
• Providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction
• Overseeing the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, and brickwork
• Providing engineering support to overcome technical problems and answer queries
• Managing systems to review work progress against time, quality, dimensions and quantity

Job description

We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our KierBAM Joint Venture team based in Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 45 hours per week

KierBAM is a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall, currently delivering an exciting redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. We're seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our team in this dynamic and rewarding environment. You'll be working in a live MOD facility, contributing to a significant project that makes a real difference.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Section Engineer, you'll be working within the WRB team, supporting them in delivering this important redevelopment project. Your day to day will include:

• Managing the preparation of as-built drawings and maintaining the Project Quality Plan
• Providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction
• Overseeing the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, including drainage, concrete, and brickwork
• Providing engineering support to overcome technical problems and answer queries

What are we looking for?

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if:

• You hold a Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng)
• You have your SMSTS and CSCS White PQP/AQP or Black Managers card
• You're working towards or hold Chartership/Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or another appropriate professional body
• You have experience with reinforcement detailing, formwork and falsework
• You possess strong communication skills and enjoy collaborative working
