Job summary

Kier is seeking a Section Engineer for a wastewater construction project based in Hogsmill, Surrey. The role supports engineering and technical compliance, bridging design and construction to ensure safe, timely delivery.

You will interpret design documents, coordinate temporary works, and monitor progress on site. The ideal candidate holds a civil/ mechanical/ electrical engineering degree or equivalent, has site experience, and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree or demonstrable equivalent (HNC/HND or BA/BSc) in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience on infrastructure or wastewater construction projects with engineering assurance.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with site coordination.
• Holds a valid CSCS card and a full driving licence; proficient in MS Office and construction software.

We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our wastewater construction team based in Hogsmill, Surrey. Location: Hogsmill, Surrey Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically astute Section Engineer to join our progressive and delivery-focused team within the wastewater construction sector. You will play a key role in supporting the engineering and technical compliance of the project, bridging the gap between design and construction, and providing engineering support across the project to ensure safe and timely delivery to the required standard.

What will you be responsible for?

• Interpreting design documentation and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
• Supporting construction teams with technical queries, resolving design conflicts, and driving value engineering initiatives

What are we looking for?

• You have an HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree (or demonstrable equivalent experience) in civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline
• You have practical experience working on infrastructure or wastewater construction projects, with a focus on engineering assurance
• You can read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and design packages
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on technical detail and site coordination
• You hold a valid CSCS card and a Full driving licence, and have excellent communication skills with proficiency in MS Office and construction-related software
