Job summary

Network Rail in Glasgow is seeking a capable Administration support to manage rosters and timesheets, keep databases updated, and assist with the Assessment in The Line process. The role requires strong clerical experience, IT literacy and confidentiality in safety-critical documentation.

You will work closely with the Section Manager, providing flexible support across the team and helping maintain efficient filing systems and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience of clerical support and office management.
  • Knowledge of relevant IT systems.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.
  • Knowledge of operational railway environment.

Scotland's Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. About the role

This is a Full-Time15-month Fixed Term position.

The role is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Section, including the management of rosters and timesheets, maintaining accurate system records, and updating databases. This includes opening and closing work orders as required and supporting the administration of the Assessment in The Line process to ensure operational and compliance requirements are met.

The post holder will also undertake a wide range of general office administration duties, maintaining efficient and well¿organised filing systems with particular attention to confidentiality and safety¿critical documentation. The role works closely with the Section Manager and provides flexible support to other Section Administrators as directed, contributing to the smooth and effective running of the team.
