Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an experienced administrator to join our team in the UK. The role focuses on delivering accurate, efficient administrative services for training activities, balancing directed tasks with independent decision-making to achieve optimal outcomes.

You will manage rosters, timesheets, and training records while maintaining confidentiality and helping to minimise wastage. This Band 6 role offers a structured salary and a range of employee benefits across the rail network.

Qualifications

  • Experience in clerical support and office management.
  • Knowledge of relevant IT systems and software.

Responsibilities

  • Support the accurate administration of rosters and timesheets in relation to training activity, ensuring visibility, compliance, and alignment with planned training commitments.
  • Ensure training systems and records are maintained accurately, providing a clear audit trail for training bookings, changes, and completion, including attendance and cancellations, minimising wastage and improving value for money.
  • Provide administrative support to the AiTL process, maintaining accurate records and supporting timely completion.
  • Maintain organised and secure training records and filing systems for the Section(s), ensuring confidentiality and appropriate control of safety critical training documentation.
  • Undertake training-related administrative duties to ensure effective coordination, visibility, and control of training activity.
  • Support other roles as required, contributing to consistent training administration and resilience within the function.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Support the accurate administration of rosters and timesheets in relation to training activity, ensuring visibility, compliance, and alignment with planned training commitments.
  2. Ensure training systems and records are maintained accurately and consistently, providing a clear audit trail for training bookings, changes, and completion, including attendance and cancellations, taking responsibility for minimising training wastage by proactively managing attendance, reallocating training places, and identifying efficiencies that improve value for money.
  3. Provide administrative support to the Assessment in the Line (AiTL) process, maintaining accurate records and supporting timely completion.
  4. Maintain organised and secure training records and filing systems for the Section(s), ensuring confidentiality and appropriate control of safety critical training documentation.
  5. Undertake a range of training related administrative duties, applying appropriate knowledge and skills to ensure effective coordination, visibility, and control of training activity.
  6. Support other roles as required, contributing to consistent training administration, shared ways of working, and resilience within the function.
