Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Secondary English Tutor to provide one-to-one tuition in Chester, starting in October 2026. The role focuses on creating engaging English sessions, tailoring learning to the learner's needs and building confidence in language skills.

The tutor will support reading, writing and comprehension, plan lessons around targets, adapt resources and monitor progress in a flexible, part-time capacity (5–15 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Strong English subject knowledge.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience working with secondary-aged learners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional child-related references.

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting an experienced Secondary English Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition to a learner in Chester.

The successful tutor will be able to create engaging English sessions, adapt learning to the learner's needs and help develop both subject knowledge and confidence.
