• The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Newcastle.
• The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary School age range, with opportunities to support pupils across all year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
• The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours, and Contract:

• Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.

About the Role:

• The role involves supporting pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream school. Pupils may display challenging behaviour and have varied SEN.
• The role includes supporting pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. The SEN may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
• A key part of the role is building rapport and positive relationships with pupils to help them engage with learning and progress academically and personally.
• The role also involves understanding the different needs and learning styles of pupils and working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues to support this.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• Experience working with children in UK schools
• Experience within an SEN School or PRU (desired)
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude
• Right to Work in the UK
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to obtain one
• Two professional references covering the last two years
