Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a PRU setting in Newcastle on a full-time basis. This role offers an opportunity to build positive relationships and make a long-term impact on pupils' lives, progress, and development.

• The role is based in an inspirational PRU in Newcastle.

Pay, Hours, and Contract:

• Full-time contract until July 2025, with a temporary nature.

About the Role:

• Supporting pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream schools, including those with challenging behavior and varied SEN.
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, with pupils having SEN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
• Building rapport and positive relationships to facilitate engagement and progress academically and personally.
• Understanding different pupils' needs and learning styles, working closely with class teachers and colleagues.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:

• Preferred: Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare qualification.
• Experience working with children in UK schools.
• Experience in SEN schools or PRU settings (preferred).
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
