Job summary

AMA Admin is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Gateshead. You will support pupils in lessons, work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis, and help create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.

The role can be full-time or part-time during term time, with a weekly salary of £450-£550. Applicants should have UK secondary school experience and a Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent); safeguarding checks and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK secondary schools is essential.
• Ability to support learners with a range of needs, including SEND (desirable).
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to the class teacher in delivering lessons.
• Support pupils in small groups and 1:1 to aid learning.
• Adapt resources to meet diverse learner needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and support the school's policy.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
• Prepare classroom materials and learning environments.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
