Job summary

AMA Admin in Gateshead is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a vibrant secondary school. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping with learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. Experience in UK secondary settings and familiarity with the national curriculum are preferred.

Term-time hours with competitive weekly pay (£450–£550). The role offers a supportive team, ongoing training, and the chance to make a real impact on students' progress.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting learning in a UK secondary setting.
• Ability to work with pupils of diverse abilities and needs (SEND desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to the class teacher in delivering lessons.
• Work with small groups and 1:1 to support pupils' learning.
• Adapt resources to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
• Promote positive behaviour and support the school's policy.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
• Prepare classroom materials and monitor pupil progress.
