Job description

We have a school that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to support students and teachers across Key Stages 3 and 4. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in students' learning experiences and development. This role begins May 2025.

Duties as a Secondary Teaching Assistant:

1. Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
2. Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support
3. Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
4. Help prepare lesson materials and resources
5. Support students with additional learning needs, including SEND and EAL learners
6. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
7. Assist in extracurricular activities and school events as needed

Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:

1. A passion for supporting students’ education and well-being
2. Experience working with secondary-aged students (desirable but not essential)
3. Strong communication and teamwork skills
4. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
5. A patient and adaptable approach to working with different learning needs as a Secondary Teaching Assistant
6. A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable
