Aspire People is seeking qualified Secondary Supply Teachers to work across Cambridge and the surrounding areas. We offer daily supply, short-term and long-term assignments to suit your subject specialism and career goals.

Applicants should hold QTS or PGCE and have experience in secondary settings, with strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management. We welcome teachers across all secondary subjects and years, and provide opportunities to experience different schools while

Qualifications

  • QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school environment.
  • Strong subject knowledge in your specialist subject(s).
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different schools and teaching environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with school schemes of work.
  • Teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Follow lesson plans and adapt teaching where necessary.
  • Assess and support students' learning and progress.
  • Provide appropriate challenge and support to meet different learning needs.
  • Maintain high expectations of students' behaviour and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership.
  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Provide feedback to the school where appropriate.
  • Ensure continuity of learning during staff absence.
  • For longer-term positions, participate in planning and marking, department meetings, schemes of work, and parents' evenings.

The Role

As a Secondary Supply Teacher, your responsibilities may include:

What You'll Need

To be considered for Secondary Supply Teacher opportunities, you will need:
