Aspire People is recruiting for qualified secondary supply teachers to cover daily, short-term and long-term assignments across Cambridge and surrounding areas. The roles offer flexibility to suit your subject specialism and career goals.

Applicants should be able to work across multiple schools, delivering engaging lessons aligned to scheme of work. We welcome teachers with QTS/PGCE and strong classroom management who can adapt to different school environments while safeguarding pupil welfare

Qualifications

  • QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school environment.
  • Strong subject knowledge in your specialist subject(s).
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across different schools and teaching environments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with school schemes of work.
  • Teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Follow lesson plans and adapt teaching where necessary.
  • Assess and support students' learning and progress.
  • Provide challenge and support to meet learning needs.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
  • Collaborate with staff and school leadership.
  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Provide feedback to the school as required.
  • Ensure continuity of learning during staff absence.
  • For longer-term roles, participate in planning, marking and meetings.

The Role

As a Secondary Supply Teacher, your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering engaging and effective lessons in line with school schemes of work

  • For longer-term positions, you may also have responsibilities such as planning and marking, attending departmental meetings, contributing to schemes of work and taking part in parents' evenings where required.
What You'll Need

To be considered for Secondary Supply Teacher opportunities, you will need:

  • QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching within a secondary school environment
  • Strong subject knowledge in your specialist subject(s)
