Job summary

Academics in partnership with inclusive and well-supported Secondary SEMH provisions in Todmorden and Roachdale requires a Secondary SEMH Teacher to educate and care for pupils aged 7-18 with social, emotional and mental health needs.

We are seeking a dedicated teacher who can inspire confidence, rebuild trust in learning, and create positive change for young people who may face barriers to education, working with therapists, mentors and support staff to track progress and celebrate achievements.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS (alternative routes with relevant experience).
• Experience in SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings.
• Resilient, empathetic and calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Belief in second chances and every child's potential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver creative, practical lessons that engage and re-motivate learners.
• Implement restorative and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour management.
• Build strong, consistent relationships to support emotional and academic development.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (including therapists, mentors, and support staff).
• Track progress and celebrate achievements, both big and small.
