Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a dedicated Secondary SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a Colchester-based secondary alternative provision. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, build trusted relationships, and assist teachers with learning activities.

Ideal candidates will have SEMH or behaviour support experience, the ability to manage challenging situations, and a patient, resilient approach to helping young people re-engage with education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH pupils in a secondary setting.
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and support emotional regulation.
• Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to secondary pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour and emotional dysregulation.
• Support behaviour management, de-escalation, and classroom routines.
