Job summary

Are you a passionate and adaptable Science Teacher looking for your next opportunity in education?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in Bury seeking a dedicated Science specialist to join their team from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is committed to delivering engaging Science lessons while also being flexible enough to provide general classroom cover when required.

The successful candidate will primarily teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop curiosity, confidence, and a strong understanding of scientific concepts. There may also be occasions where you are asked to undertake Cover Supervisor responsibilities, delivering pre-planned lessons across other subject areas in the absence of teaching staff.

The Role

• Deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan, assess, and monitor student progress
• Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
• Provide general classroom cover when required
• Deliver pre-set work across a range of subjects during teacher absences
• Support students in developing their scientific knowledge and practical skills
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote positive outcomes for students

Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Has experience teaching Science within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics
• Confident managing classrooms and engaging learners of varying abilities
• Flexible and adaptable in supporting wider school needs
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Passionate about inspiring the next generation of learners
