Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne that is looking for a confident and dedicated Secondary Teacher to support its teaching team. The school provides an opportunity to work with pupils across different subjects, encouraging academic progress, positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

This is an immediate-start, temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with a particular focus on Humanities teaching and general classroom cover across KS3 and KS4.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Early Career Teachers encouraged to apply
• Experience teaching within a UK secondary school setting
• Experience teaching Humanities subjects such as History, Geography or Religious Education is desirable
• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum and effective classroom management

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons across Humanities and general classroom cover for KS3/KS4
• Follow existing schemes of work and maintain pupil focus and behaviour
• Support pupils' academic progress and engagement

Salary: £180 - £220 per day

As a Secondary Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons, follow existing schemes of work, manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure pupils remain focused and supported throughout their learning.

The successful Secondary Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with Early Career Teachers (ECTs) encouraged to apply

Experience teaching within a UK secondary school setting

Experience teaching Humanities subjects such as History, Geography or Religious Education is desirable

Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum and effective classroom management strategies

The confidence to deliver general cover lessons across a range of secondary subjects

A positive, flexible and professional approach to teaching and supporting young people
