Job summary

Prospero Teaching are working with a popular secondary school in Enfield who are seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support lessons and students across KS3 and KS4. The role starts September 2026 on a temporary contract.

You will assist the teacher with lesson preparation, safeguarding and classroom management. The position is full-time, term-time only, and may lead to extension or permanent employment for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in a secondary school setting.
• Experience supporting KS3 and KS4 students preferred.
• Safeguarding training updated within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with preparing lessons and resources.
• Support students across KS3 and KS4 during class activities.
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.

JOB TITLE - Secondary Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are working with a lovely secondsary school who are on the lookout for a TA to join them. The school is in Enfield, EN1.

The school is a popular mainstream Secondary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff.

Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 years experience working in a Secondary school setting (desired not essential)
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
