Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Dagenham, RM9. The role is a temporary contract starting September 2026 and running until July 2027, with 8:30am–4pm, five days a week during term time. The successful candidate will support the class teacher and help with lesson preparation.

A £95 daily rate is offered, subject to safeguarding checks. Candidates must have at least 1 year KS1/2 UK experience and up-to-date safeguarding training.

JOB TITLE - KS2 Teaching Assistant

The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team, going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS

• Location: Dagenham, RM9.
• Type of work: TA – assisting the teacher, helping prepare lessons.
• Position: Teaching Assistant.
• Start date: September 2026.
• Duration: Until end of the academic year 2027 (July 2027).
• Contract type: Temporary Contract.
• Full time / part time: Full time.
• Minimum rate of pay: £95 per day.
• Hours: 8:30 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only).

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year Key Stage 1 or 2 experience in the UK.
• Up-to‑date safeguarding training issued within the last year.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold a Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child‑related references that cover at least the last two years.
