Job summary

Amarval Partners Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a Redbridge-based secondary school for an immediate start. You will provide tailored 1:1 support, promoting confidence, independence and positive learning habits among students.

The role focuses on supporting learners with academic, social and emotional development, collaborating with teachers to deliver consistent support and create an inclusive classroom atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school environment, ideally as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students.
• A genuine passion for making a positive difference to young people’s lives.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to students, helping them access the curriculum and engage positively with their learning.
• Encouraging, motivating and supporting students to achieve their individual learning goals.
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Using creative and engaging approaches to maintain students' interest and improve their learning experience.
• Supporting students with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Managing challenging behaviour effectively and reinforcing the school's behaviour policies and expectations.
• Helping students develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students receive consistent and effective support.
• Adapting your approach to suit individual learning styles and additional needs.
