Job summary

New Reflexions is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support individual students across two sites near Shrewsbury, within a small, nurturing team. The role involves day-to-day in-class support, outdoor education activities and accompanying learners on trips to help them engage and achieve.

Staff are trained in Reflective Therapeutic Intervention and benefits include DBS funding, a pension, and progression opportunities through our Training Hub.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students to maximise educational outcomes.

Teaching Assistant

Location: Based near Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY21

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, across 5 days

Weeks: 39 weeks (Term Time Only, including 5 PD days)

The Henslow and Evolution School is an OFSTED registered Independent Special School for young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges. Some of our young people are autistic, some have ADHD, almost all have experienced early childhood trauma.

Our school is set across two sites, the Secondary school is located in Middletown nr Welshpool.

At the secondary provision, we offer individually tailored educational programmes to meet each young person’s needs, combining academic study and accreditation; vocational learning; personal skills and outdoor education to suit each student.

New Reflexions 'where every child matters' are one of the leading organisations for providing specialist services across the UK.

We are looking to employ a TA who can support individual students to get the most out of their education. The role involves varied support of a number of young people and may include taking them to do a day’s outdoor education, school trips and in lesson support. It is important that our TA’s are active and supportive members of the whole school team.

All of our staff are trained in Reflective Therapeutic Intervention, to ensure a consistent approach to our positive behaviour support and this compliments our bespoke approach to the holistic development of our students; academically, socially and emotionally. In our small, nurturing environment you will be able to genuinely make a difference; having the time to provide the attachment-based nurture and support that our students need to be successful.
