Job summary

Engage Education is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Stockport from September 2026. You will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 and help deliver engaging lessons in a positive, inclusive environment.

This is a full-time, term-time only, long-term role with the potential to become permanent after a successful temporary period. A calm, patient, and supportive approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school.
• Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and learning support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Support delivery of engaging lessons alongside staff.
• Offer targeted one-to-one and small-group support.
• Support students’ learning, confidence and engagement.
• Help create an inclusive, well-managed learning environment.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
